　　1）You cannot rely on one form of communication. A manager must use both two-way and directive communication.

　　2）Remain consistent. As a senior manager, you should lead by example. Say what you mean and do what you say. In that way, your team can rely on you and find the most effective and comfortable way to work with you.

　　3）According to your team’s behaviour, give them timely feedback. Give them both positive feedback and negative feedback to make them improve accompanied by clear goals and action plan. 针对团队中个人的表现应该及时给予反馈，正面的与负面的都应提出，并且伴随明确的目标以及行动计划。

　　范例：在年度performance review中，主管希望今年Linda能够提高销售业绩，对她如是说：I have no issue whatsoever with your customer relationship building. It’s definitely your strongpoint and I am proud of you. I would like to see you increase your sales by 5% each month, though. Let’s sit down and make an action plan of how to achieve this goal.
